If you are aged 16-20 and things feel a bit tough for you right now, the Summer Jobs programme could be for you.
The Summer Jobs Programme is a six-week paid placement (one week of skills development and five weeks on placement with a local employer), designed to help you develop and grow in confidence. You and your employer will be supported throughout by a dedicated youth worker.
The Summer Jobs Programme is part of a major research initiative to explore better ways of supporting young people at risk of violence. So that the researchers can test whether or not this programme has made a difference, a computer programme will randomly place you into one of two equal groups:
If you sign up for Summer Jobs, you will have a 50% chance of paid work experience, as long as there are the right number of placements available in your area.
To be considered for the Programme, you need to complete this form before 1st May 2026, here.
You may complete the form yourself, or – if you prefer – ask a parent or guardian, a youth worker or other educator or professional to complete the referral form for you.
