“I chose to run for UK Youth to pay homage to my youth worker. 2 years ago, I was struggling a lot with my mental health and weight, so she recommended that I took up running as a scapegoat. Running for UK Youth meant I was able to channel my gratitude and appreciation for her. Training was very difficult—more of a mental challenge than a physical one. But in times like that, you need to remember your why. UK Youth was my why, and that always encouraged me to get up in the morning and run.”
Billy Nunn, UK Youth Runner
