Everyone at UK Youth would like to congratulate our Trustee, Daniel Chan, who has received an MBE for his work supporting young people.
Daniel was appointed as a Trustee at our AGM in 2017. Since then, he has done an incredible job supporting the whole organisation and providing guidance on a number of financial matters which impact UK Youth’s development and growth.
As a result of his hard work and dedication, Daniel was elected as Treasurer of UK Youth at the 2018 AGM. He continued to provide us with invaluable knowledge and experience, which resulted in his re-election as Treasurer at the UK Youth 2021 AGM and his election as Chair of the UK Youth Finance Committee.
Daniel’s work as Treasurer is having a direct impact on 5.3 million young people across the UK. Following the COVID-19 pandemic and the impact this had on young people, this work is more important than ever.
In addition to his roles as Trustee and Treasurer, Daniel is also a Senior Manager at PwC, providing audit and specialist assurance services, with a particular focus on working with the central government and not-for-profit clients.
He is a member of the PwC Charities Management Board and leads the Charities Award as part of the annual PwC Building Public Trust Awards. Daniel is a Chartered Accountant and holds the ICAEW Diploma in Charity Accounting. He is also a Chartered Manager and has a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Management. Furthermore, Daniel is a Sponsor Governor at Harris Academy Peckham and a steering group member of the PwC Foundation.
Over the past year, Daniel has engaged in a number of activities at UK Youth, attending our finance deep dive strategic meeting, supporting our AT Capital Appeal Fundraiser, and donating to the organisation. Having completed the London Marathon and raised more than £2,000 in aid of UK Youth, Daniel dedicates his time to encouraging others to fundraise for the organisation.
In addition, he works to extend the reach of UK Youth’s through his networks and social media channels, ensuring youth workers, schools and young people see the range of opportunities available for them.
We are so proud and grateful to have Daniel as part of our organisation – it is a richly deserved award!
