Young people at Positive Youth Foundation have described meeting the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as a ‘dream come true’.

The Royal couple paid a visit to the PYF Young People’s Centre to meet the team behind the Positive Youth Foundation and more than 20 of their young people.

The Duke and Duchess were given insight into the work of Positive Youth Foundation, including the role they played in helping Coventry win UK City of Culture 2021.

As one of the many members working with young people within our network, Positive Youth Foundation receive support from UK Youth to strengthen and grow their grassroots work.

Lauran aged 15, was part of a group discussion with the Duchess around mental health within young people. She said: “It was just like a dream come true. They were both really nice people and were really interest in what we had to say.

“I feel a little bit speechless but it was so good to be able to speak to Kate because I know mental health is a cause that they are very passionate about.”

“Great Opportunity”

Rashid Bhayat, the Founder and CEO of the Positive Youth Foundation, said “It was a fantastic half-an-hour or so and the Royal couple were so engaged with what our young people had to say and they really seemed to enjoy finding out about everything that we do.”
