Grants of up to £50,000 to be awarded to grassroots youth organisations based in England which have suffered in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic

In partnership with the Julia & Hans Rausing Trust, UK Youth are delighted to announce that they will offer over £1,360,000 worth of funding through the UK Youth Fund – Covid Resilience.

The fund aims to ensure that grassroots youth organisations that have suffered due to the pandemic have the resources required to reopen or bring their level of delivery back to pre-covid levels and ensure they have the financial means to weather future disruption,

Organisations that are based and deliver work in England, with a turnover of less than £250,000, will be eligible to apply for up to £50,000 to ensure the fund can reach as many organisations as possible.

Grants are available to organisations that operate from a consistent space or venue where young people can meet regularly and participate in ongoing youth work activities*.

Eligible organisation’s primary purpose must be the running of services benefitting children and young people, delivering youth work through a range of services or activities and have been operational for at least two years**.

The application process will be open from 10am Thursday 1st July until midnight Sunday 18th July 2021.

Julia and Hans Rausing would like to add “Following on from the great success of the Youth Centre Recovery Fund, we are delighted to be working in partnership with UK Youth to provide funding to youth organisations across England, which are providing such a wonderful service in so many local communities.

Young people have been some of the most impacted by the pandemic and so it is crucial to help those charitable organisations that are there to provide a vital lifeline to young people. Together with UK Youth, we hope to be able to make sure that small, local organisations can continue to provide services for young people after an incredibly difficult year.”

Lindsay Marsden, Director of External Relations at UK Youth, said, “The last 18-months have been devastating for the youth sector and the young people they work tirelessly to support. UK Youth are proud to launch the latest round of the UK Youth Fund – Covid Resilience alongside the Julia & Hans Rausing Trust – delivering our commitment to unlocking more investment and support whilst raising the profile youth work.

As well as providing this vital funding, we are encouraging all youth organisations to take up UK Youth’s wider offer of support. Each year we provide critical support, training and resources to youth organisations and youth workers to complement our work in distributing funding. The UK Youth Movement is open to all and free to join.”
