Level 2 Health and Safety in a Youth Work Setting

This course will provide delegates a clear understanding of the legal requirements upon them to ensure a safe environment for themselves, volunteers and young people. Delegates will cover the following areas:-

  • Risk Assessing activities and events (Including a pack of pro forma RAs)
  • Dealing with stress
  • Violence in the workplace
  • Safety signs
  • Electrical Safety
  • Fire Safety
  • Moving and Handling.

The course includes accreditation by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.

Who would benefit?

The course is aimed at those working with children and young people in a non formal education and youth work setting and those responsible for the implementation of health and Safety arrangements within Youth Work settings.

Facilitator: Dave McNicholl is a qualified Youth and Community worker who has worked and managed a wide range of Youth work and Play work settings over the past 15 years. Dave is an Associate Training Consultant of UK Youth and an External Moderator for ASDAN and has the Advanced Health and Safety qualification and professional trainer’s certificate.

Cost: £150 (inclusive of VAT, lunch and refreshments)
