Introduction to Emotional Intelligence
This one day training day aims to give youth workers the context for a focus on relational needs in their work
Course Objectives:
• What is emotional health?
• What are the symptoms of emotional unhealthiness?
• What are young people’s goals in their adult relationships?
• The pain and potential of met and unmet needs principle
• The importance of belonging
Facilitator:Dave Gibbs has worked with single and homeless young people for over 13 years in various settings in London and Warwickshire. After leaving Warwickshire, he spent 2 years developing homeless services for all ages in Donetsk in Ukraine, and has worked with young people and agencies in Hungary, Thailand and Mongolia. He previously worked for the YMCA developing courses and accreditation for young people in residential settings, prison, with Youth Offending and Leaving Care Teams as well as young parents. His current role is to enable individuals and agencies in London and the South East to get the most from their work with young people as well as taking a lead on accredited residential experiences for young people.
