Young People and Alcohol National Conference
UK Youth held a national conference on Thursday 21st June 2007 at the MIC Hotel and Conference Centre in London to showcase a non-formal approach to developing alcohol education work with young people. It was aimed at anyone who was looking to develop, and potentially accredit, their alcohol education work with young people. The conference was attended by a total of 130 delegates, facilitators and staff.
At the conference, we launched the Drinkaware Challenges, a project which has been funded by the Big Lottery Fund to enable UK Youth and the Drinkaware Trust to provide youth workers with the resources and support to help young people make informed decisions about alcohol.
Delegates had the opportunity to hear a range of key note speakers, attend practical workshops on the theme and took away a copy of the new Drinkaware Challenges Resource, a toolkit of sample YAA challenges and targets as well as activities and guidance.
