UK Youth is an active is a member of the Network for Accrediting Young People’s Achievements with three Award programmes represented – the Youth Challenges and Youth Achievement Awards, Peer Qualifications Programme (BTEC Certificate in Peer Mentoring and BTEC Award in Peer Education) and our Young Mother’s Learning Programme.
The Network for Accrediting Young People's Achievement (NfAYPA) was formed in 1998 by The National Youth Agency together with a range of key national accrediting bodies in non-formal education (Award Organisations and other relevant national bodies) to foster co-operation and professional knowledge-sharing between organisations.
The NfAYPA produced a 'National Framework of Awards in Non-Formal Educational Settings' which was first published in 2002 and revised in 2007. The framework focuses on national awards and puts these national programmes into a coherent structure, at the same time recognising that they are often part of a wider 'menu of options' available to young people.
