Information about the Peer Mentoring Qualifications

The Edexcel BTEC Level 2 Award and Certificate in Peer Mentoring provide young people with the opportunity to support other young people by providing opportunities that enable them to talk about what is important to them and thus help them to develop the skills needed to look after their own personal wellbeing.
The Award and Certificate provide learners with a robust programme of study designed to help them become confident and effective peer mentors. This involves looking at how their own skills and qualities can be applied to peer mentoring, looking closely at the roles and responsibilities of peer mentors, and exploring how they can personally become actively involved. Learners will then take an active role in the delivery of a programme of practical peer mentoring activities and conclude by reviewing the outcomes.
The Certificate builds on the Award by offering additional optional units, giving the learner the opportunity to expand their knowledge on specific subject areas within peer mentoring.
