Junior Achievement Award

Junior Achievement Award

“Overall I feel the JAA is a brilliant resource that is an appropriate use of accreditation for this age range"

The Junior Achievement Award (JAA) is a new national award scheme for children aged 7 to 11 (Key Stage 2).

The Junior Achievement Award uses a peer education approach to helping children plan and review the learning gained in an almost limitless range of activities that interest and motivate them. They recognise and reward children’s achievements, and are designed to develop a range of personal and social skills, including:

  • Self confidence and self esteem
  • Communication
  • Giving and receiving constructive criticism
  • Taking responsibility
  • Planning and reviewing their own learning

Since September 2008, the Junior Achievement Award has been available throughout England and Wales. For groups already registered to deliver the YAA they will not need to do anything extra, except purchase the materials form the website. For groups new to the Awards and who only wish to deliver the JAA they can register on-line at: www.juniorachievementawards.org

UK Youth will be holding a series of training events to introduce you to the Junior Achievement Awards. To find out more about the training dates and download a booking form, please go to the Training Calendar section.
