Young film makers quiz panel of film industry experts and stars

UK Youth recently held a very special Q&A event ‘Screen Burn’ with film industry professionals and budding young film makers. The event at Rich Mix Cinema was part of this year’s Festival of Youth Arts and showcased young people’s films from UK Youth’s Film For Youth festival supported by Guy Ritchie.

Panellists included Charles Thompson, film producer and Founder & CEO of Screen Nation; Andy Hylton, music video director who has worked with Corrine Bailey Rae, Ordinary Boys and Paul Weller; Olivia Bellas, Festival Director, Canary Wharf Film Festival, and Howard Dawber, Canary Wharf Film Fund.

“I’m delighted to be able to share my experiences and knowledge with the young people UK Youth works with. Film is something young people are very passionate about and it’s essential that young talent is encouraged.” – Charles Thompson, CEO Screen Nation

UK Youth works with over 750,000 young people across the UK, many from the most disadvantaged communities. The event was a fantastic celebration of the achievements of young people, as well as giving them a unique opportunity to gain an insight into getting started in filmmaking.
