UK Youth Corporate Challenge: Half Marathon at Silverstone

Nigel Flag

F1 Legend Nigel Mansell returned to Silverstone as UK Youth President to drop the famous chequered flag to start the 2007 Adidas Silverstone Half Marathon, which took place on the world famous F1 circuit on Sunday 18th March.

He and UK Youth's team of runners which included his two sons Greg and Leo then joined over 6,000 runners taking part in the event.

Dramatic weather conditions which included gale force winds, driving sleet and snow and glorious sunshine did not put a stop to the day's event and proved a true test for all the competitors taking part.

The UK Youth Silverstone Challenge Trophies were awarded to

Northampton Runners who were crowned Team Champions 2007, Seb Hoyle UK Youth's fastest runner was awarded 1st Place and Mark Wakefield won the award for Outstanding Achievement.

Despite the weather the day was a huge success and we would like to thank everyone that took part in support of the charity.
