UK Youth launches new inclusion resource

UK Youth is launching a new, innovative Inclusion resource - So what is Inclusion? - at a lunch time event on Wednesday 11th July at Roehampton University.

Places are strictly by invitation only. To register to attend contact Abigail Oatway at abby@ukyouth.org or on 0845 86204324 / 07776214011.

This new interactive resource pack aims to support the development of inclusive practice in youth work. Written by disabled and non-disabled poeple it reflects a social model understanding of disability.

The material challenges assumptions and attitudes towards disability and inclusion and recognises that inclusion is about change, which is both personal and professional.

The resource pack includes creative ideas such as an inclusive juke box, the journey planner, sound clips, humour and learning activities that encourage discussion and interaction. The resource comes in the form of a CD-Rom and poster to map out your journey.

The ideas and material have been tried and tested over 15 years of delivering Disability Equality Training and developing inclusive practice with youth workers in a variety of settings.
