Leading youth work charity UK Youth has featured in the Government’s recent Back on Track report as a case study of best practice.
The Government’s report lays out a strategy for modernising alternative provision for young people.Back on Track flags up UK Youth’s Youth Achievement Foundations™ programme as an example of alternative curriculum provision which supports young people at risk of exclusion.
UK Youth recognises the importance of providing alternative, structured non-formal learning opportunities to young people – especially those who are disaffected from formal education. Our alternative curriculum approach is based around social and personal skills development and delivered via the Youth Achievement Awards framework.
Through our collaborative work with 7KS Enterprise College (an independent education provider supporting young people at risk of exclusion), and now through the Foundations programme, UK Youth is helping support young people not in education, employment or training and providing them with positive, accredited non-formal learning outcomes.
UK Youth’s Youth Achievement Foundations™ Programme is a Pathfinder programme supported by the Youth Sector Development Fund.
