Art for Youth on 10th and 11th October

Art for Youth London

The Mall Galleries 10th & 11th October 2007

Sponsored by Rothschild

Now entering its 20th year, this hugely popular exhibition has so far raised over £500,000 for UK Youth.

Over 1,000 pieces of art (valued from £100- £3,000) by new and established artists were on display at Art for Youth London. Set in the prestigious Mall Galleries, works included: oils, watercolours, sculpture ceramics, photographs & jewellery. Artists donated 35% of sales and all proceeds from the Raffle, Auction and Silent Auction were 100% donations to the charity.

The oil painting by David Howell RSMA featured in the live auction run by Nicholas Bonham on Wednesday, 10 October at 7:30 p.m. Other Auction donors this year included distinguished artists such as: Tessa Campbell Fraser, FRBS, Tom Coates RP, PNEAC, Mary Fedden RA, Prof. Ken Howard RA, PPNEAC, and the late John Ward CBE.

Bids were accepted throughout the exhibition for fabulous Silent Auction prizes, among them some special "celebrity" contributions to highlight Art for Youth's 20th Anniversary Year.

New artists were chosen by a selection committee which seeks out fresh, innovative work. Art for Youth London enables new and upcoming artists to exhibit in a prestigious London gallery alongside more established talent. Through the generous sponsorship of Mrs. M.A.G. Fenston, the Diana Brooks Prize is awarded annually to an artist aged 35 or under. This year, many former prize winners, some of whom have gone on to very successful artistic careers, offered a piece of their work for sale as a 100% donation to UK Youth.

Art for Youth London was again a great success and a wonderful celebration of 20 years of raising funds and support for UK Youth.
