Healthy Young Adult Transitions

Healthy Young Adult Transitions
September 2009 – June 2012

UK Youth's Healthy Young Adult Transitions Project needs your input...

  • Are you a young person aged between 16 and 25?
  • Do you want to get out there and meet new people and share similar experiences, while having fun AND helping to make a difference?

If it's yes to the above then this project is just what you need...
SO...,  if you personally have experienced or know of someone who has had a negative or indeed positive experience of services provided by your local health service, particularly in areas of advice on:

  • Sexual health and relationships e.g. contraceptive / advice services
  • Substance misuse e.g. local drug advisory groups
  • Mental health and well being e.g. counselling / young peoples support services

We would really like to hear from you.

What will happen to the information gathered at this residential?

UK Youth wants to help improve the service offered by health organisations to young people.  Our peer volunteers will use the information you give us to plan and deliver workshops to tell the Health Service, Managers and Policy Makers about the service young people receive and how this could be improved.

In addition the core volunteers will produce a toolkit for other groups to take the information gathered, into their communities and help make a difference across the whole of  England.

Healthy Young Adult Transitions Project,
What is it...?

UK Youth's Healthy Young Adult Transitions project is funded by the Department of Health and is looking for young people to take part in a residential weekend to identify gaps, strengths and weaknesses in local Health Service provision.

We hope that the project will result in young people receiving a quality service from health organisations which better meets their needs.
