so|fraiche, created by Cyril Ofori Nelson and Gerald Sagoe, showcases innovation, creativity and a new generation of progressive thinkers. Videos & blogs on the so|fraiche website feature young creatives who have built their own company and image.
Cyril and Gerald wanted to do something that would showcase people, especially young people, in a positive light. “People, especially between 16 to 30, who were doing amazing things and not being acknowledged were our main inspiration as we felt they deserved a platform like so|fraiche to shine on,” says Cyril.
“We try to work as closely with policy makers and organisations regionally and internationally to bring people together to enable them to build a career in a highly competitive industry. so|fraiche also offer links to vocational courses and work experience opportunities, Cyril adds.
Paris trip
“We are London based but have taken on work in Europe and US. We have always seen ourselves as a global company from the minute we started.” A recent project took them to Paris.
“Because we showcase innovation and creativity we thought it would be a great idea to go to another country and Paris was a easy iconic location I thought would suit so|fraiche well especially with our company having a French name,” Cyril continues.
“We featured an artist called D Tone, whose creative art work gave the audience a chance to question style and fashion and how they have been confused.
“For everyone the trip was a unique experience they enjoyed fully as they felt that the time spent in Paris was intense but very rewarding for the archive visual that we managed to capture. They are looking forward to new ventures abroad.”
O2 support
“I was always likely to start my own projects and ventures but the financial and mentoring support from the Think Big family made this process faster. Being supported by them gave me a focus and milestone I could work towards,” Cyril continues.
“I have been lucky to travel across the UK doing workshops for O2 Think Big, which has given me the confidence to carry out more workshops for my own project and company.”
“From our project with Think Big we have managed to form a company called So Fraiche Media. Our clients have already included the BBC, Trapster and Nike, which has given us an idea of the potential of our company as a Media content provider.”
