UK Youth's tribute to Princess George Galitzine
UK Youth’s Vice-President Princess George Galitzine was one of the charity’s longest supporters, having been actively involved in our work for over 60 years.
After being introduced to UK Youth by the late singer Frankie Vaughan, Princess George Galitzine played an integral role in shaping our history. From helping to grow the charity when we were NAYC (National Association of Youth Clubs) to supporting our transition into UK Youth; Princess George's involvement helped us to reach over 800,000 young people across the UK every year.
Princess George made countless appearances for UK Youth and was a superb advocate of our work. She had a very long standing relationship with our Patron HRH The Princess Royal and our President Nigel Mansell CBE, as well as with the Chairs and CEOs of UK Youth past and present.
As well as being a fantastic supporter of UK Youth, Princess George was also prominent in other charitable enterprises including; Phab, the Princess George Galitzine Library in St Petersburg and the Terence Rattigan Society. Princess George Galitzine was also one of the few women to work at Bletchley Park and a top model for Christian Dior during the 1950s.
Princess George will be very fondly remembered by everyone at UK Youth for her support and dedication to the charity over the years. She helped thousands of young people and the impact of her support will continue to be felt for many years to come.
