Reach is a three year joint project with EACH working with young people affected by homophobia, sexism and cyberbullying.

This five year dynamic project is in partnership with Educational Action Challenging Homophobia (EACH).

Funded by The Big Lottery, its aim, by 2014, is to create resources for both schools and informal youth settings to help them challenge the increasingly widespread problem of cyberhomophobia and homophobic bullying. To inform this resource we are drawing together the voices of young people.  Up to now their voice has been rarely heard but in this project their experiences will be incorporated into a groundbreaking resource combining powerful evidence, practical ideas and strategies for adults working with young people to use.

This project is one of the largest youth led enquiries into the under-reported and pervasive problems of homophobia, sexism and cyberbullying, culminating in a valuable resource for schools and youth agencies.  Regular project updates will be posted on this website as well as the Reach pages of the EACH website.

Joe Wyatt, our Youth Participation Worker works with young people aged 13 to 21 across the West of England and supports the running of the project’s Youth Board comprising of individuals with direct or indirect experience of homophobic bullying or cyberhomophobia (whether this was being bullied or being the bully).

The project has recently published a survey  Cyberhomophobia - the experiences of young people.
