She beat five other strong contenders on the short-list to take the honour.
“It’s obviously nice to win but this award is recognition of the work that everyone is doing at the charity. UK Youth is making great strides right now despite the tough economic climate. This is down to the effort being put in by lots of people – trustees, staff, volunteers, supporters and our network of members all around country. I am very proud to be the CEO of such a fantastic organisation.” Charlotte Hill, CEO UK Youth.
Charlotte was just 31 when she took over as CEO in 2010. Since then she has set about increasing the UK Youth membership and also brought in major new funders, particularly from the corporate world. Her nomination also referenced an infectious passion for the work that UK Youth is doing, her ‘open-door’ style of management and a tireless work ethic.
“Charlotte has built on the great work done by our former CEO John Bateman and is now taking UK Youth to new heights. She is indeed a rising star and we are so lucky to have her leading the charity.” Bill Crothers, Chair UK Youth.
Charlotte was among 26 award winners on one of the UK’s biggest charity sector events of the year. To see a full list of all the award winners click here.
