UK Youth President and Trustee Honoured

Nigel Mansell received a CBE in the New Year's Honours list for services to children and young people, in his role as UK Youth's President, for over ten years and supporter of our work for much longer.

Nigel was already an OBE in recognition of his long standing support of the charity and the CBE recognises both the longevity and breadth of his support of young people and UK Youth.  In particular his tireless support during the centenary celebrations and through Team UK Youth have been significant in raising the charities profile and extending its reach in recent years.

Alongside Nigel Mansell CBE, UK Youth's longest serving trustee, Lady Anne Stoneham of Droxford recieved an MBE for services to young people.  Her involvement as a trustee of both UK Youth nationally and the Avon Tyrrell Trust (which looks after UK Youth's headquarters, Avon Tyrrell) has been a source of guidance, stability and expertise for over twenty years.

UK Youth is delighted that two of our most deserving supporters have been honoured in this way in recognition of all the time, energy and committment they have offered the charity over the years.  We are, of course, also thankful for their continued support.

We hope these won't be the last announcements of such recognition as there are a huge number of our supporters who have, like Nigel Mansell and Anne Stoneham, dedicated their time to improving the lives of young people.
