Last call for a royal celebration of UnHeard Voices

We want your nominations for The Hearing UnHeard Voices (HUV) Campaign Awards that’ll be held at St James’s Palace in November.

Launched by UK Youth in 2009 with funding from the Department of Health, HUV has given hundreds of young people the skills and opportunities to speak up and shape the services they access, through media and campaigning activities.

HUV is aimed at 11-18 year-olds and focuses on groups that are often marginalised such as ethnic minorities, the homeless, young carers or those not thriving in education. HUV gives young people the chance to have a say and talk about what effects their lives, what they want to change, or what they have already achieved through campaigning.

If you are a young campaigner or would like to nominate someone else who’s highlighted an important issue then we’d like to hear from you.

The eight categories that will be awarded are:

  • Biggest Impact
  • Outstanding Recognition
  • Most Creative Campaign
  • Extra Mile Award
  • Turning Your Life Around
  • Most Youth-led Initiative
  • Best Local Campaign
  • Successful Partnership Campaign

Applicants must live in the UK and be aged between 11-25 year-old on Sept 1st 2011. The awards are open to both individual and group applications and nominations close on Sept 8th.
