UK Youth
We're the leading youth work charity in the UK, supporting over 750,000 young people, 40,000 volunteers and youth workers, and over 7,000 youth clubs, projects and groups. UK Youth helps young people to raise their aspirations, realise their potential and have their achievements recognised through the provision of non-formal educational opportunities.

Guy Ritchie
In 1996, Ritchie wrote and directed his first feature film, Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, which went on to become one of the biggest UK box office hits. Snatch, also written and directed by Ritchie, was the second gangster film, starring an original cast of Hollywood names and established Ritchie as a new visionary in the industry. Following up Snatch, Ritchie co-wrote and directed Swept Away, a remake of a 1974 Italian classic. His recent return to the gangster genre with Revolver has the virtue of setting off the gangster film on a different tangent.
The Backstory
Guy Ritchie is a long-term supporter of UK Youth. In 2004 UK Youth worked with Guy to pilot the programme in London. The best entrants were invited to meet and spend a day with Guy on the set of one of his films. Due to the high level of response and the quality of entries received, we have decided to now expand the programme and to run a national festival giving more young people the opportunity to take part, develop their skills and express themselves through film-making.
As the festival is themed on 'What it means to be young in Britain today' we are also seeking to bring attention to youth issues through a wide range of distribution channels.
