London Marathon 2016 - Race Day

‘It was an absolutely fantastic experience and one I’ll remember for the rest of my life!’ – Andrew Johnson

On Sunday 24th April 2016, our #TeamUKYouth London Marathon 2016 runners took on the iconic 26.2 mile challenge to support UK Youth’s vital work with young people.

Our runners were fantastic and kept going no matter what, with some even crossing the Finish Line in a whopping 3 hours!

We had lots of friends, families and volunteers come cheer our runners on at out cheer squad at Mile 14, in a vibrant and exciting atmosphere –some of us even lost our voices from cheering so enthusiastically!

It was amazing meeting our runners at the Finish Line and hearing about their Marathon experience, their training leading up to race day and their highs and lows throughout the race route.

Our runners have been brilliant and determined fundraisers with a passion to raise awareness of UK Youth’s work and the need to support young people across the country.

We at UK Youth are incredibly grateful to our runners and their friends and families who have generously donated to support UK Youth.

Below you will find some more pictures from race day and quotes from our #TeamUKYouth London Marathon 2016 runners.
