Director of Member Engagement and External Affairs

Are you passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people?

UK Youth is looking for an inspirational leader to join our senior management team as Director of Member Engagement and External Affairs.

Founded in 1911, UK Youth provides young people aged 9-25 with high quality services, delivered through a network of locally accessible youth organisations across the UK. Together we offer support, advice and training to over 840,000 young people to equip them with vital life skills and help them engage in education, volunteering and employment. Our mission is to provide access to appropriate, high quality services for young people in every community so that all young people are empowered to build bright futures, regardless of their background or circumstances.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is an exciting opportunity for a leader who is looking for a large and varied remit, possibly as a step before aiming for a CEO role in the future.

You will provide support and provide direction to the Member Engagement and External Affairs department which is made up of the functional areas of policy, membership, youth engagement, impact & learning and marketing & communications ensuring that the teams work strategically together.

It would be ideal if you have experience of working in a youth organisation and within at least one of the functional areas in the directorate, however this is by no means a requirement and we will be prioritising candidates who show an ability to lead with a wide remit and in a strategic, joined up way.

This role offers the chance to make a real difference to the lives of thousands of young people through supporting our membership network.

In return for your expertise, experience, initiative and drive, we can offer you a friendly, supportive, vibrant environment, and genuinely interesting work within an ambitious charity with a proud history and an exciting future.
